Confirmation

2Zion’s confirmation program prepares youth for a public profession of the faith in which they were baptized. The two-year curriculum leads youth through the Bible, Luther’s Small Catechism, introduces them to the story of the Church and explores the hot issues of the day. Complimentary to and part of the Confirmation Instruction experience are Youth Bible Classes that are held on Sunday morning during the education hour and Youth Fellowship held on most Sunday evenings. 
Normally Confirmation 1 instruction meets on Wednesday evenings and Confirmation 2 on Sunday afternoons. The Confirmation Service usually takes place on the first Sunday in May upon completion of Confirmation 2.

Orientation Meeting about the confirmation program takes place on the Wednesday, August 25, 6:00pm. In cases where children have been unable to start the program in the 6th grade or to participate in classes as scheduled, parents are encouraged to speak with a pastor about alternative arrangements for instruction.

Activities and Fellowship

There are many opportunities for middle school and high school students to be involved at Zion.  Throughout the year there are retreats, classes, social gatherings, mission trips, and more.  For ongoing information about our programs and activities see Sunday bulletins, “Upcoming Events” on the youth home page, and the Youth Information Board in the lobby.
