Our Festival This Year
This year we remember some of the musical highlights of the Boar’s Head Festival which we presented from 2006-2016.  Over 21,000 visitors and participants attended over those 10 years.  Many have shared with us that the Boar’s Head was how they started their Christmas celebrations.  While the festival in its entirety is not presented here, selections from it have been recreated for tonight to help bring back those wonderful memories.  To God be the Glory for His inexplicable gift to us through that baby, Jesus Christ, through whom and ONLY through Him do we have the hope of eternal life. A very special thanks to our choir who have worked so hard over the years to make the music so special.  Many of our group now enjoy their Christmas with Jesus in Heaven.  While we miss them we rejoice in their victory!     
 
The Boar’s Head Story Itself
As we begin, the light of Christ enters a sin-darkened world in the hands of a young sprite holding a single lighted candle. The churchman receives the light and from this flickering flame lights a candle on the altar which burns throughout the entire festival.  Next, a young girl hovers over the manger, inviting us to come see the baby born to set us free from the bonds of our sin.  As she leaves, the Beefeaters, or Tower Guards, use simple banners to transform our sanctuary into a medieval manor.  Here, see King Wenceslas and his page assist a young peasant gathering wood for fuel in the cold.  Then, announced by a fanfare, the Boar's Head, symbolic of Christ's triumph over evil, enters followed by members of the royal household.

Leaving the manor behind us, we are now transported to Bethlehem to view the Holy Family, the shepherds seeking the newborn king, and the Wise Men who have followed a star to see a prophecy fulfilled.  Our entire cast then returns to kneel before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  At the conclusion, the Light of Christ leaves the sanctuary in the hands of the Sprite and the churchman, to bear His light to all people.
